You know that frustrating moment when your outfit won't work because your top needs to be slightly longer to cover ill-fitting jeans, or you're trying to tuck the extra length of your jeans in to skinny ankle boots to no avail?
I did away with those annoying problems a little while ago, and the solution was very simple.
Rather than owning multiple pairs of jeans, and liking and disliking certain things about each pair, I reworked my wardrobe to only include four or five pairs of the ultimate, staple denim jeans – and by that I mean, ones that fit so well you basically want to wear them with nothing else... but unfortunately it's pretty damn cold in Sydney and nipples aren't socially acceptable... Instagram doesn't even like them.
These four pairs will have you covered from day to night. All day, every day.
THE TRUE BLUE:
Classic, timeless and versatile. These are jeans to live in. Wear them with a white boyfriend shirt to channel Parisian chic, or try double denim if you're game. You can mix and match denims, or go head-to-toe in one wash. Here's one I prepared earlier:
Wearing vintage denim shirt and Nobody jeans.
These are your day-to-night friends. Dark denim looks slightly more "polished", but this wash basically goes with anything. For daytime, I love them paired with a simple T-shirt and Birkenstocks.

A woman's best friend. All hail the black high-rise skinnies, a.k.a. the most flattering jeans ever. I love wearing them with chunky knits or a crisp white shirt and a boyfriend blazer. The contrast of suiting and denim means you can dress up without looking (or feeling) like you're trying.
Wearing Mango blazer, Oskar shirt, Nobody jeans and Pour La Victoire mules.
The hero jeans for after five or dressier occasions. I tend to live in these in winter because they're the next best thing to leather pants (which are often unflattering and really uncomfortable).
These four pairs are super stretchy, so they mould to your body like a second skin, meaning you can sit however you want and feel right at home. Like me, lounging all around this awesome car which I borrowed from my photographer's assistant for these photos.

Stylist: me.
Nobody's skinny jeans are the best fit I've found to date, and by far the most comfortable.
How do you wear your skinnies?
