Three looks to consider...
Welcome to 'what to wear in spring - the monochrome edition'.
I know about 80% of my posts involve some variation of black and white, but if you're reading this blog I have a feeling you don't mind.
With the change of seasons almost upon us, (and spring only a few days around the corner here in Australia!) it's the perfect time for a fresh start in the wardrobe department. The in-between seasons are my favourite times of the year because they allow the most freedom when deciding what to wear... and Myer's recent Spring Summer 2015 presentation was full of good ideas.
Here are three of my favourite trends:
STATEMENT STRIPES:
Wearing blazer & trousers by Cue.
Stripes are kind of like black and white - they never go out of fashion. That's why the three of them together makes the perfect combination.
This suit immediately caught my eye on the runway because of the cut-out detail and flared trousers. They're both classic pieces with a modern twist and I'm all about it.
THE BOHEMIAN WAY:
Wearing blouse & skirt by Morrison.
This is something I'm easing into, because we all know floaty bell sleeves and skirts aren't exactly my modus operandi. But there's something so nice about playing-up your feminine side every now and then with soft, relaxed silhouettes and red lips (pulled back down to earth with a pair of sneakers, of course).
SUMMER BLACK:
Wearing top & skirt by Toni Maticevski.
The colour black is almost synonymous with winter, but there's something specifically striking about it in summer, too. Look for pieces with shorter sleeves and an open back, and remember that a bit of a bronze glow (faux - always) is mandatory.
