BLACK AND WHITE.

ASOS top (here), Talulah shorts, Mollini sandals, Electric sunglasses and Alexander Wang bag (here).

Photos by Nicole Cooper.

At the risk of sounding boring and completely unadventurous, I must say black and white are my two favourite colours.

My normal after hours uniform consists of all black (like this), all white (like this) or a combination of the two like this outfit I wore to breakfast on Saturday.

These black and white print shorts by Talulah are my favourites for weekends in Bondi. I'm all about comfort, and they're just so perfect!

Have an amazing week friends.x

BEACH TO THE BAR IN 5 STEPS.

I live a street back from the beach in Bondi, and my boyfriend can't go a day without surfing (or he develops a slight nervous twitch and gets almost impossible to deal with) so I often find my days at the beach turning into afternoons (and evenings) at a nearby bar.

I always find it's a bit of a mood killer to have to go home in the interim, so I made it my mission to find the best multi-use products that will get me from A to B without needing to take a suitcase.

My latest post for Vogue Australia's Spy Style was inspired by this, so I hope you find it useful!

OH ORANGE!

Wearing Theyskens' Theory top, Josh Goot skirt, Nowhere shoes, Le Specs sunglasses, Meadowlark jewellery and Sportsgirl clutch.

Photos by Nicole Cooper.

... how I love you. It's my favourite for manicures, pedicures, bright lips and summer accessories.

Orange is just the perfect colour to brighten up your life and bring summer back (especially when you live in Sydney and summer thinks it's winter, or it's completely torn between the two, making one day almost 46 degrees and the next practically freezing!).

The past few seasons have been all about opposites attracting - mixing prints and colours and looking like a walking, talking bag of Skittles.

I was lucky enough to be invited by the designers of Australian label Ginger & Smart to preview their amazing autumn/winter 2013 collection this morning, and the message for the new season was clear - it's all the about matchy-matchy from here on in.

Want to get on board? Wear one colour or print head to toe, or match your bag to your skirt and your shoes and your nails!

Coming soon: choosing the right makeup for your outfit: part two, how to do the perfect bright lip and more!

WE LIVE FOR THE WEEKEND.

It's only Monday, but I'm already hanging out for Saturday again.

I know it might seem like I'm stuck in a black and white rut lately, but I just couldn't resist this Bigeni Basics top when I saw it. It's sporty, striped perfection, don't you think?!

Anyway, for some time now I've been wanting a new pair of sandals.

But not just any sandals.

I've been hunting for the type that work pure magic (i.e. it looks like you're wearing flats, but they have just the right amount of heel to trick people into thinking you're a lengthy legs eleven).

I know that sounds impossible, but I used to have a pair of Sportsgirl boots that were this perfect height, and now I've struck gold with these Windsor Smith sandals. They're super chunky, and I like it!

Coming later this week: choosing the right makeup for your outfit - part two (finally!).

IN MY HANDBAG: 6TH FEBRUARY, 2013.

The contents of a handbag reveal so much about the owner. I've seen many Q&As where people reveal the contents of their makeup bag, but it's the things we take with us on the road that are those we're most attached to.

The contents of my handbag always include the boring stuff like my iPhone and car keys, but whatever else makes the cut depends on what I'm loving at the time, the mood I'm in and what my schedule looks like for the day.

This is a new series I've been wanting to start for a while. Do let me know if you want to see more!

Today, I tried to be superwoman. I attempted to jam as many things into one day as I predicted was humanly possible. The day started with a press breakfast (and a 7.30am call time) and ended with a quick trip backstage at the David Jones autumn/winter launch this evening.

I don't like applying makeup over makeup hours after the first application so I take things to 'amend' what's already there, rather than adding to it. Here's what today looked like:

1. Vogue Australia March 2013 issue: of course.

2. Ecotools brow brush: Freshly combed brows work some serious magic. They seem to open up my face and make my eyes look brighter.

3. Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid: A few hours after leaving the house my hair never looks as fresh. I take this in my bag to spritz into my hands, smooth down any frizzies and make it sh-sh-shiny.

4. Nanoblur: Y'all need this in your life. Immediately. You press it over your foundation as a 'quick fix' for shininess, wrinkliness or enlarged pores. It evens skin out. Perfect for what I like to call the 'mid-afternoon makeup mud slide'.

5. Tom Ford perfume: It's my heavy, sultry, power woman perfume. I felt the need for it this morning.

6. Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector: When you're tired for an afternoon meeting, it's just rude to look tired. I used this stuff to cover up darkness under my eyes (and give myself a mini eye massage with the icy cool applicator while I'm at it. Weeeeeeee).

CHOOSING THE RIGHT MAKEUP FOR YOUR OUTFIT: PART TWO.

The response I received to part one of this series overwhelmed me. Thank you for all of your amazing comments - I love it when my posts encourage people to give thoughtful feedback that actually shows they've read what I had to say.

This week I'm focussing on anything and everything to do with sequins and sparkles. Like I said here, too many girls seem to think if they're going all out by wearing a fully sequined number that they should apply this same enthusiasm to their face. Wrong.

In my little imaginary book of makeup do's and don't's, anything super sparkly should be accompanied by a fresh face with barely-there makeup. This keeps the focus on the sparkles and minimises the disco trash bag status.

To create this look I started with my favourite base - Clinique even better foundation. I concealed under my eyes and around my nose with Ellis Faas concealer and then added colour to my cheeks with the Nars multipurpose cream colour stick. To create glowing skin, I pressed M.A.C cream colour base onto my cheekbones and the inner corners of my eyes.

To define the eyes, I began by getting my brows in shape with my Ecotools brow comb. I used Clinique instant lift for brows to fill in the gaps and add a reflective line on my brow bone (it has two ends!). I then applied M.A.C false lashes extreme black mascara and completed the look with my absolute favourite product right now - Clinique almost lipstick in Black Honey. This is the perfect shade to make lips look plump without looking like you're wearing anything.

What's your stance? Do sequins call for smoky eyes? A red lip? Talk to me people! x

FEATURED ON THE LOVE ASSEMBLY.

I was very flattered when Aubrey from The Love Assembly contacted me to do an interview.

She quizzed me about my job, what's on my bedside table and a typical day in the life of yours truly.

Hope you're having a great week! x

Phillip Lim couldn't have possibly catered to my taste any more than this. I love everything about this collection - from the clever layering, to the super luxe leather pieces and the cocoa coloured lips. Beauty trend alert! I'll be testing this one out for sure.
