BORROWING FROM THE BOYS.

If you're going to shop in the men's section, you need the perfect shoe to tie it all together...

A few weeks ago, during some much needed family time, I posted a photo of my latest shoe purchase on Instagram and I had so many people enquiring about them that I decided they deserved their own post.

For those of you who were asking, meet my new oxfords

I'll admit, they have man repelling tendencies. My boyfriend's initial reaction was some sarcastic comment about "school shoes", but I love them.

I was inspired by the 3.1 Phillip Lim versions, but I thought the cut out details at the side make these a bit more summer friendly.

And what's more, they're surprisingly versatile. Of course, they're a must for any man-style ensemble, but they also add a nice twist to an otherwise feminine outfit.

A DAY AT THE RACES.

Every year when racing season rolls around again it brings about that old dilemma – what to wear?

On Saturday I had the pleasure of being one of Clinique's special guests at the Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day at Royal Randwick.

The spring racing season is in full swing, so my outfit of choice was a bit of a rule breaker.

Just as felt hats should be reserved for the autumn carnival, I'm almost certain another rule says black should be avoided and leather is 100% inappropriate, but this Dion Lee dress was just too good to resist.

A huge thank you to Dion Lee, Gucci and Suzy O'Rourke for dressing me. Thanks also to Oscar Oscar Salon in Paddington for giving me the sleekest ponytail I ever did see (the one pictured here is my rendition) and Clinique for my make-up and the good times!

WHY PRINTED HEELS SHOULD BE THE NEXT ADDITION TO YOUR WARDROBE.

Here's four good reasons to put some feline on your feet.

1. They instantly take the 'boring' factor out of an ensemble of casuals, basics or all-black (or white, or grey, or a block colour – you get the drift).

2. They make it super simple to mix prints.

3. They make it easy to incorporate a print into an outfit (especially for those who find prints overbearing when worn near the face).

4. They take a way better Instagram photo than a plain black pair (here's one I prepared earlier)

GIF TUTORIAL: HOW TO FAKE PERFECT BROWS.

Fake it till you make it with 1 little palette and 5 quick steps.

Fact: Cara Delevingne is killing tweezer sales, because we all want brows like Cara. So, with bold brows (still) in high demand, I thought it was the perfect time to share my personal daily brow regime. All you need is the ModelCo Designer Brow Kit

ONE

Brush brows upward and out to create your desired shape. Brushing them up (as opposed to along your brow) helps to create that more natural 'model brow' look, rather than perfectly neat, over-groomed and old-fashioned brows.

TWO

Use the clear gel to set your brows into place. I do this before shading them in so I know exactly where more fullness is needed. Again, I use an upwards stroke to direct the hairs up and out.

THREE

Use the small angular brush to shade in the gaps. The little brush in this kit is great because the angular shape makes it easy to create a nice, defined line.

The palette comes with three different shades, so I sometimes use a combination (because it creates a less obvious result) if I have time.

Otherwise, I go for the middle brown shade which never looks too obvious. You don't want your eyebrows to look like they're painted on your face (unless you're backstage at Celine).

FOUR

Pay special attention to the inner corner of your brows. I use the small, angular brush to create a square shape by lightly pressing a bit of powder on inner corners in an upward motion.

As you can see, it defines the shape and makes them look more striking.

FIVE

I'm not even sure if this is what the clear gel is intended for, but I also use it on my brow-bone to make it nice and dewy looking.

I find it catches the light, helps to keep my brows in place and makes my eyes look nice and bright.

After tending to my brows and following my 5-step process for a perfect make-up base I often find I don't even need mascara.

Let me know if you have any amazing brow tips! And again, apologies if you had to see me mid-blink while the gifs were loading.

HOW MUCH DENIM IS TOO MUCH DENIM?

That's a good question...

If there's a tipping point of too much denim I missed the memo.

I've literally worn this Wrangler shirt to death. Last time I posted it on Instagram when I was in Fiji I had so many people asking where it's from and, truth be told, it's actually a men's shirt I found in an op shop many years ago. Anyway, when I saw this denim midi skirt from ASOS I knew they were a match made in heaven.

But more importantly, the beautiful Geneva from A Pair & A Spare sent me the most amazing gift in the mail – a DIY kit for this transparent satchel from her collaboration with Wander & Hunt

The kit makes it unbelievably easy for rookies like you and I (sorry, I should speak for myself) to make this super amazing bag. It took me a matter of minutes!

Maybe the fact that it's transparent will force me to keep my handbag contents to a minimum...

3 BLACK PIECES THAT WILL UPDATE YOUR WARDROBE WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK.

Because you're worth it....

Lately I've had so much luck finding amazing pieces that are perfectly "right now" but also perfectly affordable right now so, of course, I thought I'd share them with you.

Wearing ASOS top, Witchery shorts and heels, 3.1 Phillip Lim clutch and Michael Kors watch (similar here)

I may be totally man repelling in these shorts, but I absolutely love them. I bought a similar pair a while ago, but these are more tailored so they're a lot more flattering (while still having the "boyish" factor).

The key to pulling these off is mixing them back with something a bit more sexy or feminine..

This ASOS top is so versatile and can be dressed up or down without much effort at all. They have it in different colours, including a pretty cute animal print one here

Wearing Witchery shoes

Finally, Witchery are doing incredible shoes. I love the shape of these at the back, it makes the classic black sandal just that little bit more exciting! And don't even get me started on these ones, which I posted on Instagram and people practically lost their marbles over. I don't blame them, they're pretty amazing.

Hope your week is off to a good start! x

I'll be announcing the winner of the Céline clutch in my next post.

KAYLENE MILNER + CÉLINE GIVEAWAY WINNER.

A post about this one time I wore colour... oh, and could the new proud owner of a Céline wallet be YOU?

It's no secret – I rarely wear colour.

When I eventually break out of my black-on-black staples it's only because something is so damn amazing that I just can't help myself.
So, without further ado, meet Kaylene Milner. A new designer whose deliciously textured pieces seemed to have my name all over them and are just screaming "take me to the Tuileries!"

I'm in la-la-lurve with the burnt orange colour of this knit and the charcoal contrasting details. It's definitely my kind of colour!

Wearing Kaylene Milner sweater and skirt, Zara bag and Windsor Smith heels.

And now, for that little announcement you've all been waiting for.......

Congratulations...

Abby Campbell!

You have won a Céline wallet thanks to Reebonz

I will be in touch via email shortly to organise your prize.

*Winner was selected using random.org. If prize is not claimed within a week of the winner being contacted the competition winner will be redrawn.

INTRODUCING THE CHRONICLES OF HER X CLAIRE ARISTIDES JEWELLERY.

The collection is now available to shop.

I've collaborated with fine jewellery designer Claire Aristides to design a small range of delicate jewellery to add an intimate touch of beauty to everyday life.

The seven-piece range consists of fine necklaces, rings and earrings that can be worn singularly or all at once while remaining simple, chic and anything but overdone.

The collection stemmed from the idea that nothing is quite what it seems and celebrates the beauty of intricate details. This idea presents itself in small ways throughout the collection – whether it be the horseshoe detail beside the necklace clasp or a crystal studded earpiece that lines the lobe.

I may be biased, but I literally haven't taken the pieces off since the shoot. They just add that subtle touch of something special to any and every outfit.

I hope you love the collection as much as I do! x
