TODAY: TONI MATICEVSKI.

Maticevski's show is one of the most highly anticipated shows at MBFWA, and one of the collections I've been most excited to see.

Here's a little snapshot of what to expect from the master of sculptural drape and flattering the female form.

CHECKMATE: 3 RECENT PURCHASES THAT ARE ACTUALLY TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

And then God created ASOS...

No, this post is not sponsored by ASOS – I just genuinely wanted to share three scores I made while browsing the new arrivals a few weeks back because, well, I really like them, and I think you might too.

It ticks all the boxes; a high neckline, the perfect boxy shape and in my new favourite colour. If the blue's not for you, there's a similar one in black here, and a particularly awesome slightly cropped version in black here.

Errrrrrrbody's doing it, and this one has a a dipped hem at the back which makes for perfect oversized slouchiness.

It's all about the ankle-grazers and the rip. I really like the true blue colour of these; they're a little bit more exciting than dark blue but not overly distressed.

BALMAINIAC.

There comes a time in every girl's life when...

She just needs to wear Balmain  whether it's for a fleeting moment while window shopping in Paris, or just to marvel at what real structured shoulders should actually look and feel like.

Luckily for me (and you), Farfetch has decided to launch an Australian site so they brought the Balmain to me and saved me the airfare.

We may not be considered one of the fashion capitals of the world here in Australia (we have rubber thongs and ugg boots and other ghastly fashion faux pas to thank for that) and distance is definitely a disadvantage when it comes to sourcing certain designer pieces...

But we do love to shop. So much so, that Farfetch decided to answer the prayers of luxury fashion fiends Australia-wide and bring their mix of 300 of the world's best bricks and mortar boutiques to your fingertips.

So, what does it all mean?

It means they're (kinda) bridging the gap between you and your holiday shopping sprees. It means you now have access to a whole new world of delicious sartorial treats that are good enough to lick. Yep. I'd lick them (but I didn't, promise).

Can I interest anyone in a powder blue Proenza Schouler PS13? Yes thanks, I'll take 10.

BORED WITH BALAYAGE? READ THIS.

Let's talk about life after balayage. Here's what's next...

I'm not a risk taker.

I don't cross the road when the little man isn't green, just like I've never strayed too far from my natural hair colour. Except for when I dyed it blue black in year ten. That was awkward.

I've always been an advocate of the old adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but sometimes "safe" gets boring. The first time this happened, I discovered balayage. Fastforward five years and I'm back to being bored. With fashion week kicking off this week, I wanted a change.

Balayage is dead. So where to from here?

Spotlight. No, we're not going fabric shopping.

Spotlight is a new colour technique that my favourites at Oscar Oscar salons introduced me to recently. Boring technicalities and confusing words aside, basically, it mimics the way sunlight reflects off your hair when it's hitting your face.

The lighter pieces are focussed on the midsections near the cheekbones and around the front sections which opens up the face and makes you look like a big sunkissed beach babe. Ultimately, that's what we were all going for with the whole balayage thing right?

Natural is still the keyword. We don't want any scary skunk effect. The colour should be perfectly blended with some lighter pieces also through the back to tie it all together.

Not exactly sure why I had my eyes closed here. Either catching some zzz's or thanking the lord that I have the best damn hair colourist ever. Love you Michael!

THROUGH MY LENS.

A NIGHT WITH VOGUE, WOOLMARK AND FRANCA SOZZANI OF VOGUE ITALIA WITH THANKS TO OLYMPUS

On Thursday night last week, I went to a photographic exhibition of the March issue of L'Uomo Vogue, which features some of our most celebrated Australian icons in film, television, music and beyond.

I was lucky enough to wear the most incredible dress by Australian designer Josh Goot, and the evening was one I'll remember for years to come so I thought I'd share some of my favourite moments from the night which I snapped on the new Olympus OM-D E-M10 (which has WiFi, making it super Instagram-friendly. Amen!):

The incredibly chic Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia standing before my favourite portrait ever of Australian actress Cate Blanchett, which also happens to be the cover of the new L'Uomo Vogue – here's to Australian talent and dapper Aussie dudes...

... I'm looking at you, Chris Hemsworth. Oh, and who could ever get sick of Hugh Jackman?

After perusing the pages of L'Uomo Vogue we proceeded next door, where six Australian designers were showcasing their latest collections.

Dion Lee, Christopher Esber, Josh Goot, Romance Was Born, Strateas Carlucci and From Britten were hand-picked by Sozzani to take part.

I took the opportunity to catch up with some of my favourite people.

Selfies with Christopher Esber.
Because, if it's good enough for Ellen DeGeneres, it's good enough for me.

Phresh off the runway at Céline, Hermès and Valentino.
Australian model Stephanie-Joy was Esber's model muse for the evening.

Girls being girls...

It's always a good time...
With the one and only Michael Lo Sordo.

PARTNERS IN CRIME.

There is something so intriguing about models off duty. I find it somewhat monotonous flicking through the masses of stunning editorials featuring the same flawless faces, so I’m always stoked when I stumble across a snap from the private lives of these ridiculously good-looking individuals. Another reason I love these shots is that they remind me that models, too, are living, breathing, eating (this is debatable), sleeping, laughing, crying, loving humans. In celebration of this I decided to dedicate a post to photos of models and their lovers. I was going to refer to the old saying – their “better half”, but it didn’t seem befitting. Can you really be any better than these beauties?

Shop my NYFW outfits

Right here, right now.

Before I get started, I should probably point out that I landed back in Sydney, Australia at 5:10am this morning after a 26 hour journey from London, so I'm distracting myself by writing this post to deny jet lag the chance to kick in.

I've been meaning to get this post up for a while but didn't quite get around to it during my travels (blame that on crappy wifi, moving hotels every few days, disappearing international adaptors and me generally running around like a mad woman, sleep deprived yet high on caffeine), but as they say, better late than never, right?

I received a lot of requests for credits of various things I wore during NYFW, so I decided it was best to share them all in one place... i.e. right here, right now.

Happy shopping! x
